  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

The Ammarnäs delta is classified as a northern boreal alluvial meadow area, and is sited at 400 meters above sea. It is flooded every spring which is important for the growth and harvesting characteristics as well as for the specific vegetation species. The more dryer parts of the meadows are almost totally cultivated and the wetter areas can be classified as natural. Some other parts are grazed. There are considerable values for the birdlife in the delta which gives further reasons for the preservation. Threatening factors are drainage, power plants and deactivation of harvesting and grazing.
