Other Site Characteristics

Killingsanden is a boreal baltic sandy beach dominated by perennial vegetation. The beach is surrounded by a forest of pine and is unique as it is exceptioned from exploitation like buildings and landing stages for boats. The area is one of few large undisturbed beaches in the province of Västerbotten.

4.2 Quality and importance

The main quality of the area is that it is one of few large undisturbed beaches that remains in the province of Västerbotten. It is therefore of vital importance that the site is protected from further exploitation.
