Other Site Characteristics

Ecologically very diverse forest (red pine forestst on dolomite, beech forests) area with fens an wet meadows in the northern part of Slovenia.

4.2 Quality and importance

Well managed forests and relatively good preseved calcareous fens with Cladium mariscus, extensive managed Molinia wet meadows with Maculinea butterflies, in streams there is habitat of Austropotamobius torrentium.
