Other Site Characteristics

Well-preserved beech stands and beech mixtures with especially fir and valuable broadleaved tree species represent the site. The flysch geological basement is formed especially by sand- and claystones. Soils are the Cambisols and Fluvisols often with the gleyed bottom layers. The site belongs to the two different climate subregions – moderately warm, moderately humid to humid and moderately cool. The relief is mostly of the upland character.

4.2 Quality and importance

Maintenance of the beech forest communities (native wood composition, well-preserved structure and rich herbaceous undergrowth), which include the enclaves of the wetland communities rich in Orchidaceae and Calluna vulgaris communities. The site is a part of the Východné Karpaty Protected Landscape Area.
