Other Site Characteristics

Beech stands with Quercus pubescens in the mountain edge part of the site on the calcareous basement with the emergent rocky walls represent the main part of the site. Geological basement is formed by carbonate conglomerates and sandstones (Inner Carpathians Palaeogene rocks). The site belongs to the Vihorlatsko-gutinská geomorphological unit, subunit Vihorlatské vrchy Hills.

4.2 Quality and importance

Well-preserved rock, grassland and forest communities with occurrence of Quercus pubescens and rare thermophilous herbaceous species on the calcareous conglomerates. The site is a part of the Humenský Sokol National Nature Reserve.
