Other Site Characteristics

The site is situated in the top section of Tlstá Mt. (1555 m) and is entirely covered with dense forests. Its basement is predominately formed by muscovite-biotite granodiorites and granites of Prašivá Mt. type together with so called Lúžňany sequence of layers built by quartzite and quartz, arkose and greywacke sandstones.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site is valued for being important strutting grounds for the forest grouse (Galliformes) species. It also provides the favourable living conditions for several species of large carnivores. The site falls within the territory of the Nízke Tatry SPA.
