Other Site Characteristics

The site is situated in the north-east of the Vinohrady nad Váhom village. The loess sediments up to 10 m of a thickness form a basement. The relief is of a lowland hilly land character with the fluvial elements. Soils are loamy to sandy–loamy. Potential native vegetation is represented by the oak-hornbeam forests and xerophilous oak forests.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site is a part of the Dubník National Nature Reserve. The best well-preserved habitats of the thermophilous oak woods in Slovakia.
