Other Site Characteristics

The site represents the artificial fishpond in the lowland Senianska depresia depression. Vegetation is represented by Phragmites australis, Carex sp., Salix cinerea and the alluvial plant communites of Alopecurion pratensis. Geological basement is formed by clays, silts, sands and gravels.

4.2 Quality and importance

Important locality especially for spring and autumn migration of birds and as a nesting place for rare waterfowl species. One of the last localities of Fritillaria meleagris in the north of Východoslovenská nížina Lowland. The site overlaps with the Senné-rybníky National Nature Reserve and Senné-rybníky SPA.
