Other Site Characteristics

The site belongs to the geomorphological unit of the Kozie chrbty mountain ridge. and is almost entirely covered with mixed forests. Prevailing rock types of geological basement include grey, pale grey and white dolomites, grey thick-bedded limestones and crinoidal limestones with chert. Erosion processes have contributed to the sporadic formation of cliff topography.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site represents a good example of typical forest communities of Nízke Tatry Mts. Best featured is the habitat type 91Q0 Western Carpathian calcicolous Pinus sylvestris forests. Site partially overlaps with the territory of the National Nature Reserve Turková.
