Other Site Characteristics

The site is partly formed by island areas situated in the side channels of Poprad River. Underlying geology is represented by alluvial gravely-sand sediments.

The site is representative of aquatic habitat providing home to several priority (annex) species of fauna. The site was designated a protected site in 1990.
