Other Site Characteristics

The site is located in the south-western part of Krupinská planina Plateau and is covered with the oak forests turned to sparse vegetation towards the east. The eastern part is formed by eroded slopes with the andesite screes.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site includes the communities of the thermophilous oak forests with the occurence of Ablepharus kitaibelii. Quality and importance: Well-preserved native oak forests with a soil-conservation function and rich in species shrubby vegetation are present in the site. Forest conditions originated as a result of the minimal human influence. The western part of the site stretches into the Nature Reserve Šipka. The site is significant for the occurence of Ablepharus kitaibelii.
