Other Site Characteristics

The site is situated in whole Považský Inovec, part Nízky Inovec. From geotectonic and lithologic point of view is it the site with extra biodiversity. The covered mezozoic rocks from units: Hronicum (tuberous limestones), Fatricum (gutenstein limestones) and Tatricum (quartzites), which are overlay various types of quaternary sediments. Limestones are marked karst activity. Considerable part of the site covered drift of loess loams with arable land (mainly in the past). The site is mozaic different habitats: dry meadows and pastures with rich occurence thermophilic species (Adonis vernalis, Orchis tridentata, O. militaris, Ophrys holubyana), orchard, arable land with vulnerable weeds (Adonis flammea, Torilis arvensis, Caucalis platycarpos), thermophilic ouk forest with Cornus sp., grikes with Stipa sp., deserted stone pit, loess walls, quartzites with Calluna vulgaris and Orchis morio.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site is identical with Nature Reservation Beckovské Skalice (declared in 2003). The site uniqueness is based in habitats diversity nad rare plant and animal species f.e.: Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera. The biodivesity maintainance demand on specific habitat management with succession changes prevention.
