Other Site Characteristics
| Canyon valley in Ipeľská pahorkatina, about 80 m deep. The geological subsoil is volcanic rocks - andesites and their pyroclastics. It is located in an agricultural land. The Sikenica stream swam on the bottom of the canyon, the steep slopes are covered by various types of oak communities, turkey oak forests, screee forests and oak-hornbeam communities. Small islands of non-forest xeroterm vegetation, pioneer vegetation and rocks are locally found locally. In valleys, flooded forests they occur to a lesser extent or coastal vegetation of the stream. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| The unique geomorphological formation of the canyon valley, on the slopes with outstretched rocks and debrises, naturally occurring oakwoods communities, debris forests and non-forest habitats. In the valley zone they are filled with floodplain forests. The area is part of the Horšianska dolina National Nature Reserve (NPR). |
