Other Site Characteristics

The territory is formed by the bay of the Orava water reservoir and the mouth of Jelešňa stream. The coastal parts of the territory are inhabited by biotopes of submerged and floating vascular plants and surrounded by a protection forest strip surrounding the Oravská water reservoir. The wetland habitats found in the alluvium of the Jelešná meandering stream are formed by peat bogs habitats and regularly flooded coasts. The water level in Oravská water reservoir varies depending on the operating mode of the dam waterworks.

Communities of eutrophic to mesotrophic stagnant water in the coastal parts of the bay, surrounded by floodplain forests with enclaves of forest peat bogs.
