Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Specifikus célok: A denevérfajok számára szaporodó- és pihenőhelyet biztosító bányavágatok környékének szabadon hagyásával, a bányafalak növényzetének eltávolításával szükséges a szabad berepülés biztosítása. Minden lezárt, vagy nem megfelelően lezárt barlang esetében denevérbarát lezárás, illetve biztonságos denevérbejárók létesítése szükséges. Gondoskodni kell a gyenge állékonyságú bányavágatok fenntartásáról és rendszeres ellenőrzéséről. Biztosítani szükséges a tágas berepülőnyílások hosszú távú fenntartását. A denevérfajok állományának biztonságos fennmaradásához szükség szerint korlátozandó a bánya területén jelentkező emberi zavarás, turistautak, tanösvények létrehozása. A prioritás fajok esetében szükséges az állományok változásának monitorozása.
