Well conserved Illyrian beech and oak-hornbeam forests with rich geophyton flora on 200-300m high clayhills.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Specifikus célok: A terület fő célkitűzései: A területen élő védett és fokozottan védett fajok által is reprezentált, hazai és közösségi szinten is egyedülálló természetes és természetszerű élőhelyek megőrzése, fenntartása, különös tekintettel az illír gyertyános-tölgyesekre és bükkösökre. A terület bükkös zóna elterjedésének szegélyén található bükköseinek megőrzése érdekében többek között mikroklimatikus és talajvédelmi okból a folyamatos erdőborítás biztosító gazdálkodásra történő átállás rövid időtávon belül. A védett növény- és állatfajok állományának, egyedszámának, populációi életképességének megőrzése, különös tekintettel a következő fajokra: a közönséges denevér, nagyfülű denevér, nagy hőscincér, szarvasbogár. További célok és végrehajtandó intézkedések: Az inváziós növényfajok visszaszorítása. Az akác, valamint a monokultúra jellegű tűlevelű (erdeifenyő, lucos) erdőtagok őshonos lomboserdővé alakítása középtávon. (az Arborétumon kívüli állományok). A természetes jelölő társulásokban megjelenő akác (Robinia pseudoacacia) és bálványfa (Ailanthus altissima), valamint a vágásokban, szegélyekben megjelenő magas aranyvessző (Solidago gigantea) teljes kiirtása. A 80 évnél idősebb erdőállományokban már tárgyévtől, a fiatalabb állományokban középtávon a jelenlegi erdőkezelési módról (véghasználat, fokozatos felújító vágás) az állandó erdőborítást biztosító gazdálkodási módra (pl.: szálalás, Pro sylva típusú kezelés) történő átállás. A rovarok és odulakó madarak, denevérek számára a lábon álló holt anyag megtartásával megfelelő szaporodó- és élőhely biztosítása (különösen a közönséges denevér (Myotis myotis), nagyfülű denevér (Myortis bechsteini), nagy hőscincér (Cerambyx cerdo), szarvasbogár (Lucanus cervus) fajok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartásához / eléréséhez). A területen tapasztalható gyep és cserjeszintben okozott - jelentős vadkár miatt a nagyvad állomány csökkentése (szarvas, őz, vaddisznó). There is no complex official management plan. Recommendations: - forest management is allowed only where necessary, forbidden in beech core area
