The loess grasslands and Stipa steppe woodlands of the hill slopes sustain valuable and vulnerable populations of several continental plant (Stipa tirsa, Chamaecytisus albus, Chrysopogon gryllus) and animal (Isophya costata, Probaticus subrugosus - extinct!) species. The area has also preserved smaller fragmented populations of loess steppic oak woodlands and dwarf almond steppic thickets. On the valley bottoms (Bla-vlgy) valuable mesophilic hay meadows are found with several lowland plant species.

5.3 Site designation (optional)

Almost 10% of the area is under national protection (as part of the Bkk National Park), the designation of the Bla-vlgy area (owned by the national park directorate) protected is in progress (Tardi-legelo (pasture) Landscape Protection Area). The management plan of the area has been prepared and is presently the subject of interdepartmental discussion. The site is entirely part of the National Ecological Network.
