4.2 Quality and importance

Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő fajok / élőhelyek kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása / helyreállítása: szubpannon sztyeppek (*6240) szubkontinentális peripannon cserjések (*40A0) Janka-tarsóka (Thlaspi jankae) The Apci Somlyó (397 m) is a characteristic volcanic cone of the South-western Mátra, owing its rich vegetation to the belt-system-like ascension of the steppe woodland species of the Hungarian Plain along the river Zagyva to the southern slopes, exploiting the lithological conditions (loess sand on andesite). The site has outstanding botanical assets. So far, 25 protected plant species have been described in the area. The invertebrate fauna, however, is mainly undescribed yet. The plant associations have been formed through secondary succession. The most extensive of them is a steppe woodland (Campanulo-Stipetum tirsae) association dominated by Stipa tirsa. After the abandonment of vineyards and orchards, the association expanded rapidly, and came to include the refuges of thermophilous oak forests and native steppe elements. The one-time contact with the Plain is signalled by the ascending loess species and the degraded steppe.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. SPECIFIKUS CÉLOK 1. FŐ CÉLKITŰZÉSEK A területen található nagy kiterjedésű árvalányhajas erdős-sztyepprétek (6240), valamint a hozzájuk köthető növény- és állatvilág kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása / elérése, az állományok cserjésedésének, akácosodásának visszaszorításával mechanikai, szükség esetén vegyszeres kezelésekkel (többek közt a jelölő Janka-tarsóka (Thlaspi jankae) megőrzése érdekében; A sztyeppcserjéseket (40A0) és sztyeppréteket (6240) veszélyeztető (károsító) késő tavaszi avartüzek megelőzése. 2. TOVÁBBI CÉLOK Gyepkezelések során a szegélycserjések, cserjés sávok és foltok részleges kímélete valamint hagyásfák megtartása; Az inváziós fafajokkal (elsősorban akác) fertőzött területek természetességének javítása. A fenyőültetvényekről betelepülő fenyő fokozatos visszaszorítása; A területet ölelő mezőgazdasági területről érkező káros hatások csökkentése (vegyszer és műtrágyahasználat területi szabályozásával, kisebb vegyszerhasználatot igénylő kultúrák preferálásával).
