Other Site Characteristics

The dolomite range spreading from the settlements of Szr and Bicske through barok and Nagyegyhza to Tarjn. It is largely made up of dolomite, on which sand is deposited in a small quantity near Szrliget and loess also north from here. Two important water-courses of Gerecse (the streams of Vli-vz and Szent Lszl-patak) cross the site. The characteristics of the dolomite comprising the mountains differ: while the areas near Szr-Szrliget (Hajagos, Zuppa, Nap-hegy) are of clastic dolomite, on the Lingat vast dolomite blocks and walls are also present.
