Other Site Characteristics

An ensemble of alkaline grasslands and pastures together with Champhorosmetum annuae patches and alkaline lakebeds. On the top of salt berms there is loess vegetation of considerable species richness present. The area is ramified by regulated water-courses (Perje, Kis-Perje), with several artificial canals and causeways. Woodlands are represented only by a few black locust and Eleagnus angustifolia groups. The alkaline lake of Cigny-szk has been surrounded by a dam thus it has a marshy character now. The continuous grasslands contain enclosed arable lands in some places.
