Other Site Characteristics

A narrow depression basin of northeast-southwest direction in the south foreground of the Vrtes (Vrtes Mountains) within the administrative areas of the settlements of Cskvr, Ptka and Zmoly. The Zmolyi-medence is a breeding, migratory and feeding area for numerous species and specimens of birds and part of an ecological corridor stretching between the Vrtes, Velencei-hegysg (Velencei Hills) and Velencei-t (Lake Velencei). The most valuable habitats of the site are the dry grasslands, grasslands with Stipa sp. and wetlands. The simultaneous presence of the species with dry and wet ecological demands refers to the habitat diversity of the area.
