The grassland is large, rather intact salt pasture/steppe patches (with the 4-5th largest continuous occurence in the Pannonic Region). Almost flat area with high diversity of different drier or more humid salt habitats. Some small sodic lakes also occur. The remnants of the former saline forest-steppe are valuable. Population of some species is very significant at nationwide scale. Important region for Great Bustard (the 3-4th largest Hungarian population). Outstanding place for raptors.
