Kiemelt fontosságú cél a következő fajok/élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének fenntartása, lehetőség szerinti fejlesztése: Élőhelyek: 1530 Pannon szikes sztyeppék és mocsarak Fajok: Ürge (Spermophilus citellus) Once continuous, big salt grassland, recently isolated patches of them. The remnant are still species-rich and rather undisturbed. The souslik population is important for providing prey items for raptors. Some smaller, but ornithologically important sodic lakes also occur here.

Általános célkitűzések: A Natura 2000 terület természetvédelmi célkitűzése az azon található, a kijelölés alapjául szolgáló fajok és élőhelytípusok kedvező természetvédelmi helyzetének megőrzése, fenntartása, helyreállítása, valamint a Natura 2000 területek lehatárolásának alapjául szolgáló természeti állapot és a kedvező természetvédelmi állapottal összhangban lévő gazdálkodás feltételeinek biztosítása. Specifikus célok és végrehajtandó intézkedések: - A gyepterület jelenlegi állapotának fenntartását célzó legeltetési/kaszálási rendszer kidolgozása, mely figyelembe veszi az ürge állományainak ökológiai érdekeit is. Az ürge állománynagyságának és az állomány területi kiterjedésének megőrzése érdekében biztosítani kell az állandó rövid füvű állapotot. - Bolygatott részek gyepjének rekonstrukciója gyommentesítő kaszálással, szükség esetén a gyepavar felszámolása megfelelő időpontban végzett égetéses kezeléssel. - A területen lévő mocsarak, mocsárrétek vízellátottságának biztosítása. - A területen lévő és azzal közvetlenül szomszédos tájidegen, illetve inváziós fafajú faállományok (pl. akác) fokozatosan őshonos állományra cserélése, az akác gyepre történő terjedésének megakadályozása. - A gyepen megjelenő fásszárú és lágyszárú inváziós növényfajok terjedésének megakadályozása.
