Other Site Characteristics

It has two main habitat-groups: dry sand habitats such as pannonic sand steppes and pannonic sand dune thickets (the latter in much smaller extension) and artificial forest monoculture occur. "Other land" types are: small farms, motor road, canals, dense vegetation patches of invasive adventive plants, wastes, etc.

4.2 Quality and importance

Kiemelt fontossg cl a kvetkezo lohelyek/fajok kedvezo termszetvdelmi helyzetnek helyrelltsa: 6260 (pannon homoki gyepek), 91N0 (pannon borks-nyrasok), Dianthus diutinus (tarts szegfu). It has a great importance from the point of wiev of Dianthus diutinus. This area is the living place of the 90 % of the Hungarian polpulation of the Dianthus diutinus. The quality of the site is very bed. Most of the area covered by artificial forest plantation (Pinus nigra, Pinus sylvestris). Only a smal part of the area survived the original vegetation and the Dianthus diutinus. Large scale habitat restauration must be carried out in the near future for saving the Dianthus populations, because the large part of the population groves on the edge of the artificial forest, roadsides.
